Full-service digital agency, twentysix has launched a Rugby-based game for iPhone and Android phones, generating buzz across the country thanks to its simple and addictive gameplay.

In preparation for the exciting Rugby World Cup taking place across England and Wales, Retro Rugby is an interactive game which is currently gaining traction in both the Apple and Android app store rankings.

Retro Rugby is an easy to pick up but hard to put down casual game with 8-bit graphics and a synth soundtrack. Gamers can select up to eleven teams and play an infinite amount of levels if they have the skills.

Using a simple swipe gesture, the user controls the attacking player and has to avoid hitting the defenders or the post to score a try. As the user progresses, the timer counts down and the defenders become more active to make for an addictive game.

Developed by the agency’s mobile division, twentysix mobile, the game was specifically created for their client Brighthouse and created to preserve the countries excitement in the rugby event.

Sam Watson, head of Mobile at twentysix, said: “twentysix mobile is a rapidly growing division of the business. We’re delighted with the interest and downloads - I’d urge any keen gamers to download the free app onto their iPhones and Android phones to join in with Rugby fever taking over the country. “
